Trip Highlights – The Ultimate Galveston Island State Park RV Adventure
Pre-Trip Excitement – Horseback Riding at the Ranch
Before hitting the road, we enjoyed a relaxing horseback ride at the ranch, soaking in the last bit of quiet countryside before our coastal adventure. Nothing beats a little equestrian therapy before embarking on a road trip!
Fueling Up – Last-Minute Propane Stop at Tractor Supply
Experienced RV travelers know that preparation is key! A quick propane stop at Tractor Supply ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, especially since winter weather on the coast can be unpredictable.
Smooth RV Setup at Galveston Island State Park
Arriving at the park, we were greeted with spacious RV sites, easy back-in access, and a peaceful beachfront atmosphere. The newly renovated campsites offer full hookups, picnic tables, and close proximity to hiking trails and fishing spots.
Dinner at The Spot – A Must-Visit for Food Lovers
Our first night in Galveston called for a feast at The Spot, a local favorite known for its fresh seafood and casual beachfront vibe. We highly recommend trying the Shrimp Kisses—jumbo shrimp stuffed with jalapeño and wrapped in bacon. Absolute perfection!
Exploring Nature Trails & Beach Walks with Enzo
Our pup, Enzo, had a blast exploring the nature trails and running along the sandy shores of Galveston Island State Park. The park’s trails are perfect for a morning hike, where you can spot coastal wildlife and take in breathtaking bay views.
Christmas Eve Storm – A True RV Experience!
The Gulf Coast is known for its unpredictable weather, and we got the full experience! On Christmas Eve, strong winds and heavy rain rolled in, forcing us to bring in the slides for extra stability. It was a wild night, but part of what makes RV life an adventure!
Christmas Morning Pancakes & Presents
Waking up to a peaceful Christmas morning, we enjoyed a cozy breakfast of fluffy pancakes and opened presents in our home on wheels. There’s something magical about celebrating the holidays from the comfort of your RV, with the sound of waves crashing nearby.
Rainy Day Relaxation & Sunset Beach Walks
A little rain didn’t stop us from enjoying our trip. We took advantage of the cozy weather by relaxing inside, catching up on reading, and later taking a sunset beach walk when the skies finally cleared. The golden hues over the Gulf were breathtaking!
Impromptu Christmas Dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf – Seafood Heaven!
For Christmas dinner, we made a last-minute decision to head to Fisherman’s Wharf, a legendary seafood restaurant in Galveston. From perfectly seasoned shrimp to fresh fish straight from the Gulf, every bite was a delight. If you're a seafood lover, this spot should be at the top of your list!
