Decorating for Christmas in an RV might seem like a challenge, but with a little creativity (and a love for all things cozy), even the smallest space can feel festive and full of holiday cheer.

In this episode of Wild Horses RV Adventures, I’m decorating our motorhome for Christmas using simple, budget-friendly ideas — many of which come from things I’ve held onto for years. Because honestly, holiday magic doesn’t have to come from buying all new décor. Sometimes the most meaningful decorations are the ones that come with memories.

I started in the bedroom, layering in warmth with soft red buffalo-plaid sheets and a fuzzy winter comforter that instantly made the space feel snug and inviting. Even in a small RV bedroom, a few seasonal touches can completely change the mood.

Of course, the kitties couldn’t be left out! Their bunk area got a little festive upgrade too, making it a cozy holiday nook just for them. And if you travel with pets, you know — keeping things both cute and functional is key.

Next came one of my favorite parts: decorating our tiny Christmas tree. It may be small, but it’s filled with ornaments we’ve collected during our travels, each one holding a special memory. That’s one of the things I love most about RV life — your decorations become a reflection of your journey.

In the living area, I added simple touches that make a big impact, including a cat-proof tablecloth trick (because curious paws are always part of the equation!) and soft LED “candlelight” for a warm glow without the worry.

One of the most fun and personal projects in this episode was creating mini stockings for our RV fireplace. They’re the perfect size for a small space and add such a charming, festive detail. Even better, I’m sharing the FREE printable PDF pattern so you can make your own!

I also added a few holiday touches to the kitchen and bathroom — because in a small space, even the little details can make everything feel more festive.

This whole process is a reminder that you don’t need a large home or a big budget to celebrate the season. Whether you’re decorating an RV, an apartment, or just looking to simplify your holiday décor, it’s all about creating a space that feels warm, personal, and joyful.

So if you’re ready to deck your tiny halls, grab a cup of something cozy and join me for a cheerful day of decorating — and maybe a little crafting too.
